Tucson is located geographically the best location in the world for studying the solar system, consequently, at Kitt Peak, we have the world's largest solar telescope & the largest collection of optical telescopes in the world.  Kitt Peak houses 22 optical & 2 radio telescopes and represents dozens of astronomical research institutions.
